Hi all,

These are yet to be edited or fiddled with or anything. I've chosen a select few and hoping I haven't doubled up on my last post...

Coloured shots to follow...

anna e alessandra...

Hi all,

I've decided that there aren't many pictures of Ally and our darling daughter floating around on here, so I'll choose a select few to share.

Also, please note I took some "pretty" photos with my "good" camera over the last couple of days, so they'll be making an appearance soon too.

Things are going well, was told today that her weight gain is fantastic [as well as Ally's weight loss!] and her sleeping patterns are a credit to our routine. To be honest, school holidays help, but still beaming nonetheless.

That's all for now,

With love, as always,

the romance of the wednesday...

Copied from a Facebook post of mine. But very important to share with my kids. Here goes...

                                 [taken january 2nd, 2012]

Someone asked me the other day about my memories of going to watch Sheffield Wednesday when I was younger...

I went in the early 90s with my Dad and his Dad...

Can't give you complete specifics on where we parked etc. because I don't know the area around the ground that well [moved over here when I was 8] but I definitely remember walking past a burger van or two and will Google Map to see what I can guess.

I sat both on the North and South Stand in various years. One side we used to park up Penistone Road and walk down and around the corner...burger van outside a pub? Really the best I can manage.

                                 [looking down wadsley lane]

Alternative way in involved queuing outside a fish and chip shop...grabbing a programme on the corner whilst walking down a hill [doesn't help, with it being in the Borough of Hills] but my Dad always gave me the money to get the programme. Made me feel very grown up and special.

Remember disliking Andy Sinton and loving the legends of the time [Waddle, Hirst, Walker, Sheridan]. Kevin Pressman was my favourite player because he was "left footed and saves penalties". Fair logic if you ask me.

[would be nice to go back here too]

A few games I remember going to:

3-1 win over QPR

1-1 against Southampton where Sinton went down in the box but didn't stay down so no penalty

And of course the 7-1 loss to Forest. Well. Have I been told a story about that one. We were down about 5-0 at half time, my head was in my hands and naturally I was in tears. My Dad [with my Grandad and anyone within earshot listening in] asked what was wrong and I simply replied - "it's your fault!". "What's my fault?", he replied. "You made me support this team AND THEY'RE RUBBISH!" Needless to say there was a chorus of laughter but I've been stuck with them ever since...

I loved the feeling of leaving the ground having won. But even better than that was walking to the ground. Regardless of who we were playing that buzz always gets me. From the second I got out of the car I was swept up in a wave of blue and white. Of people conversing with each other about what they'd heard on the radio or read in the papers rather than just seen on their phone.

                                 [pretty concrete]

I've been back in 2000/2001 [start of the season], 2004/2005 [Kenwyne's loan spell], 2010/2011 [frozen pipes] and 2011/2012 [happy days under Megson]. The buzz is still there. My wife has been and she gets it.

Someday my daughter will go and she'll get it too. We'll go to Hillsborough Park pre-game and have a kickabout, Make sure we have take-away for tea because Saturdays every fortnight will be special like that. I'll carry my girl on my shoulders like my Grandad did me and wrap a scarf round her neck. Hopefully my Dad will come with me too and it'll be three generations again...

                                 [looking across hillsborough park]

That's all for now,

With love, as always,

p.s. happy easter, love Anna xx

**image orchestrated and taken by Daddy and Nonnina. Anna was a pretty unwilling participant.

who is the cutest little baby girl in the world?? (despite requiring not one but TWO sets of clothes changes overnight...)

Pictures totally don't do her justice, but here are a few snaps anyway. Some prints are heading the way of all overseas family so I hope you enjoy them.

OK, one more. Just because. This is drunk baby Anna...

Much love,

photographs with family...

Hello everyone!

Ally and I figured we'd both actually take the time whilst our little cricket is sleeping to add some pictures up with family. Apologies in advance to those of you who may get a little upset at seeing these and not being able to be here. If it makes you feel any better, Anna has no idea who anybody is except for Mama [giver of food, changer of nappies] and Daddy [giver of baths, reader of stories].

She is sleeping to a pretty decent routine at this stage. She normally gets put down around 5/6 in an evening. Up at 8/9 which is her feed and bath time. Up again at 11/12 then sleeping through til 4/5. Most alert in mid-mornings [foolishly the same time as I am typing!] and loves being bathed and sung to. Dislikes anything coming between her and food and dogs barking.

Ally is coping well and is getting the hang of resting/sleeping when she needs to/when Anna is napping. I try and help where I can, but when her awake time is so limited I feel pretty redundant.

That being said, I did bottle feed her this morning. She had a perplexed look on her face throughout, but enjoyed the milk nonetheless!

Mama's highlight so far: "Looking at her milk-drunk face with her big gurgly smile."
Daddy's highlight so far: "Bathtime. She's so tremendously awake but relaxed at the same time. Happy time for both of us."

Despite being poo-ed and wee-ed on in one sitting. Secretly I was impressed...

Anyway. This is my rambling pretty much over. Ally will no doubt post later today as well.

That's all for now!

With love, as always,
Luke xx

our little one

I'm taking some valuable time out from sleeping to upload these photos, so please enjoy.

Our baby girl, Anna Fiorenza Shaw, was born at 10:35pm on Wednesday 2nd of April. After a 19 hour labour, she came out in two quick pushes and immediately took our breath away. A little Autumn girl with big blue eyes and a shock of white-blonde hair.

The following photos show Daddy's first cuddle, Mama's first cuddle, her gorgeous face and hair, and Anna's first measurements. And Anna's first use of her very healthy lungs.

Anna broke hearts all over the hospital. The midwives came to see her at every roster change, she was called the "sweetest baby in the ward" and even the lady doing a flu vaccine survey started crying when she met her. Apparently she was the only blonde in the hospital at the time and they all did a double-take when they looked between she and her mother. It all made sense when Luke would come for a visit.

More photos and stories to come, but I may leave it until the school holidays when I can nap while Luke has fun showing all of his pictures. Including the couple we took of Anna's first introduction to Sheffield Wednesday at 5am on Saturday morning. Apparently they must've known she was watching because they put on quite a show and "played really well". They still lost though...

Much love,
Ally xxxx
