anna + sand = hilarity

This past weekend we drove up to Diamond Beach to visit Ally's aunt Sherry and her family. Anna hasn't ever walked on her own on sand before and I wish I had better pictures of her first experience of it, because the faces she made were priceless. Our usually fearless child turned into this little sooky lala and once she was put down onto the sand could not budge from the spot without some pretty extreme waterworks.

Regardless, the photos of this little show-off are brilliant and she had a wonderful time exploring.

dah! (duck)

Visiting with Steven and Cathy is always fun and exciting for Anna, in part because it's a whole new place to explore, and partly because her Uncle Steven can't help but pick her up the second he sees her and carries her off to talk and play with her. Tita Cathy has this incredible ability to raise a little four-month-old son, greet us, give us snacks and make lunch, while also fully dressed, showered and with perfect hair and make-up. (Do I sound envious?)

Anyway. We had another lovely visit on the Queen's Birthday long weekend and this time there were quite a few ducks involved. After lunch was finished and we'd stuffed our faces full of lovely food courtesy of Cathy, we walked to the nearby park to let Anna run off some energy. We also stopped at a cafe so that the 'men' could order some very masculine drinks (iced mocha and lychee juice, anyone?)

Anna's love for dah! lives on. Too bad Tita Cathy doesn't quite share her fondness for ducks (notice Cathy is in no photos anywhere even close to the birds).
