nesting

We knew that these school holidays would be the only decent amount of time before the baby is born to get the endless piles of baby-related items into some kind of order. Because we are living with Nonna we have limited space and the baby will be in our room for at least the first 6-9 months.

Babies seem to come with a lot of... stuff. So much that it necessitated Luke and I sitting down and writing up a list of all the storage space we had (random drawers and areas across several different rooms) and the stuff that we had to find a place for and then did a funky tetris thing to make it all work.

One thing I consider a blessing and a curse is the fact that we now have plenty of wardrobe space available since I can no longer fit into most of my clothes, so I packed them all up last week.

(Ignore the fact that most of these items are blue or green. We can't seem to help buying things in our favourite colours...)

In between all of the boring sorting and folding and storing, we have also been looking at how to decorate the little baby space in our room to make it look less... old. So far we've found quite a few things to frame and once we know the gender we will be buying some other bits and pieces to make it work.

Just for a brief baby update it is now about 30 weeks old, measures 40ish cm and weighs just over 1kg. It kicks like crazy all. the. time. Especially when we are about to watch a movie or lie down to sleep. But the midwife says baby is perfectly on track.

And antenatal classes begin in two weeks and we were warned that the birthing video is played during the first class, so I will be sure to stock up on water bottles, vomit bags and a soft mat to lie on when Luke faints.

I hope everyone is well. Will be updating with more photos soon. Much love xx
